New hire to relocate from Hong Kong
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has announced yet another change to its leadership team, with Melanie Slack appointed as the group’s new chief executive Australia and New Zealand, with immediate effect.
In this position, Slack will be responsible for managing the strategy, development and performance of the company’s presence in the Australian and New Zealand commercial insurance markets.
She is currently head life and health products for Swiss Re Asia and will relocate from Hong Kong to Sydney.
The announcement follows the internal promotions of Asia-Pacific chief executive Fred Kleiterp to chief executive Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Jonathan Rake, who will take up Kleiterp’s current role on 1 July from his post of South East Asia head.
On the latest announcement, Kleiterp said: “Melanie is a recognised re/insurance industry expert and a proven leader who has been instrumental in the growth of Swiss Re Group’s operations in Asia.
Slack added: “I’m excited to work with our team of claims, risk engineering and underwriting specialists to help clients build resilience through traditional and innovative risk transfer solutions.”
