Dr HaoMing Zhou is based in Shanghai and reports to Gilles Fromageot, regional manager, Asia

AXA XL Insurance today announced the appointment of Dr HaoMing Zhou as Country Manager, China, effective 20 June 2022.

In his new role, Zhou will be responsible for defining and implementing AXA XL’s insurance strategy in China and further enhancing relationships with clients and brokers in the region.

He will interact with a wide range of stakeholders, collaborating with the leadership of AXA Tianping and AXA XL in Asia to leverage regional assets between the entities.

Zhou is based in Shanghai and reports to Gilles Fromageot, regional manager, Asia, AXA XL. He also has a dotted reporting line into Yamin Zhu, chief executive officer, AXA Tianping.

Zhou is a seasoned insurance professional. Most recently, he held the position of CEO, director of Starr P&C Insurance (China). Before that, he was head of Construction, Asia at Brit Syndicate 2987, a division of Lloyd’s China.

He has also held a series of executive positions at Swiss Re, RSA and Aon China, having begun his career in 1995.
