The wounded insurer is considering the sale of Unibanco-AIG to help it deal with financial difficulties, according to reports

AIG is said to be considering the sale of its Brazilian assets to help it recover from financial difficulties, according to reports.

The Brazilian daily newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo reported that AIG was mulling the sale of Unibanco-AIG, the fourth largest Brazilian insurance company.

According to reports AIG may have offered its Brazilian assets as part of a guarantees for receiving Federal Reserve Board aid.
