James Rout named as ACE Asia Pacific’s energy risk engineer

Chemical engineer James Rout, whose previous positions include risk engineer at both Willis and CV Starr, is a specialist in insurance risk engineering for the oil and petrochemical sector.

The Imperial College London graduate has a decade of direct industry experience and a further six years of risk-engineering experience covering operational, construction and liability insurance.

A new addition to the Energy and Utilities team in Asia Pacific, Rout augments the services provided by ACE’s existing senior energy risk engineer, who is based in Australia. Rout will be based in Singapore.

ACE’s regional head of Risk Management Engineering Services, Rai Navakas, said the company was fortunate to have an experienced professional like Rout join the Energy team.

“His strong background and industry experience will provide a good foundation for the continued expansion of ACE’s Energy business in the region,” Navakas said.

“James brings with him considerable international experience – both practical industry and risk engineering – having lived and worked in the Middle East, North America, Europe and Asia. His background and prior experience provide strong foundation and benchmarking for ACE to grow its Energy book while offering clients the benefit of his industry knowledge.

Navakas has said previously that ACE’s main offering to its clients is “risk engineering experience, global reach and technical expertise”.

Rout joins the ACE Global Energy engineering team, which now consists of nine energy engineers operating in five different regions.
