Entry to StrategicRISK’s Awards is free of charge with 16 specialist awards across two different categories. Entry is open to individual risk managers, risk management teams and organisations providing services to the risk and insurance management sector.
Category 1 Awards are open to risk and insurance professionals working within a corporate with operations in the Asia-Pacific. Entrants can be based outside of Asia-Pacific as long as their organisation has operations in the region.
- The StrategicRISK Award
For risk management to become truly effective it must evolve from being operationally focused to become a tool that supports individuals and companies make better strategic decisions. The StrategicRISK Award recognises efforts in this area. The award is open to any individual or team that has made significant steps to embed risk into the decision-making fabric of their organisation in 2017. - Asia-Pacific Risk Manager of the Year
This category is open to any individual who currently has responsibility for corporate risk and/or insurance management, and whose work during 2017 has made a significant difference to his or her organisation or the wider risk management community. The judges are looking for evidence of the individual’s strategic and operational thinking, effective leadership and planning, excellent communication skills and demonstrable results. The contribution and result should preferably be innovative as well as excellent. - Risk Management New Starter of the Year
This category is open to individuals at the beginning of their career in corporate risk and/or insurance management. The entrant must have worked in a corporate risk or insurance related role for five or less years on 31 December 2017. Judges are looking for an entrant that can demonstrate that they have contributed to the measurement, management and/or mitigation of risk at their firm. Organisation and planning skills, negotiating and influencing skills and excellent communication are all important attributes of an aspiring risk manager. Successful entrants will be able to provide evidence of one or more of these. - Asia-Pacific Risk Management Team of the Year
This category is open to risk/insurance management teams, consisting of at least two individuals, who achieved demonstrable success with one or more initiatives in 2017. Judges will look for evidence of team collaboration, effective communication and the use of clear planning to address a specific risk management challenge. - Enterprise Risk Programme of the Year
This category is open to any individual or organisation that has introduced or enhanced an enterprise risk management approach in 2017. Judges will look for evidence of how the ERM programme has met the changing needs of your business, how it was effectively embedded within the organisation, and the business benefits of its implementation. - Risk Management in the Public Sector
This category is open to any individual, team or organisation in the public sector that has introduced or enhanced a risk management approach in 2017. Judges will look for evidence of how the risk management approach addresses the specific challenges facing public sector companies, how it was effectively embedded within the organisation, and the benefits of its implementation. - Insurance Initiative of the Year
This category is open to any individual, team or organisation that has implemented an innovative corporate insurance/risk financing programme in 2017. This could include the establishment of a captive or the use of an innovative insurance structure. It could also include firms that have restructured their insurance programme to improve coverage or firms that have successfully aligned the risk and insurance function. Judges will look for evidence of how the strategies employed helped your firm to better manage and mitigate risk.
Category 2 Awards are open to risk/insurance managers and service providers including but not limited to insurers, brokers, technology providers and advisors.
- Asia-Pacific Insurance Innovation Award (Company)
This award is open to regional and global insurers that can demonstrate that they have developed an innovative risk and/or insurance product, solution or intiative that has significantly benefited one or more of their Asia-Pacific clients. Judges will look for evidence of how this product and/or service goes the extra mile to meet the specific needs of companies in Asia-Pacific. Measurable results and testimonials to support claims are important. - Asia-Pacific Broker Innovation Award (Company)
This award is open to regional and global brokers who can demonstrate that they have developed and implemented an innovative risk and/or insurance management product, solution or intiative that has significantly benefited one or more of their Asia-Pacific clients. Judges will look for evidence of how this product and/or service goes the extra mile to meet the specific risk or insurance needs of one or more of your clients. Measurable results and testimonials to support claims are important. - Asia-Pacific Corporate Broker of the Year (Individual)
This award is open to individuals at regional and global broking firms who can demonstrate that their work has substantially benefited one or more of their Asia-Pacific clients. Judges will look for individuals that have gone the extra mile to understand and meet the specific risk or insurance needs of their clients and developed innovative solutions to help them better manage risk. Measurable results and testimonials to support claims are important. - Asia-Pacific Corporate Insurer of the Year (Individual)
This award is open to any individual working at regional or global corporate insurer whose work has substantially benefited one or more of their Asia-Pacific clients. Individuals could work in relationship management, underwriting, claims, risk engineering or management roles. Judges will look for individuals that have gone the extra mile to understand and meet the specific risk or insurance needs of their clients and developed innovative solutions to help them better manage risk. Measurable results and testimonials to support claims are important. - Technology Innovation Award
This award is open to any organisation that has used to technology or developed a technology-based solution to support better risk management decision making. This includes but is not limited to risk and insurance management solutions. Judges will look for evidence of how your innovation meets the specific needs of your company or clients. Measurable results and testimonials to support claims are important. - Risk Advisor of the Year
This award is for individuals, teams or organisations that provide risk management advisory/consultancy services. Judges are looking for entrants that can demonstrate that they have supported Asia-Pacific clients overcome a specific risk management challenge through excellent creative thinking, problem solving and innovative strategies. Evidence of consultation with all stakeholders, strong communication and influencing skills, and the application of risk management best practice are essential. - Risk Management Product of the Year
This award is open to any organisation that has developed or improved a risk management product in 2017 which includes but is not limited to: OHS related products, insurance related products and advisory/decision-making tools. Judges will look for evidence of how your product meets the specific needs of risk/insurance managers in Asia-Pacific. Measurable results and testimonials to support claims are important. - Best Risk Training Programme of the Year
This category is open to individuals, teams, companies or specialist training providers that have initiated a new programme or improved upon an existing initiative in 2017. Judges are looking for entries that can demonstrate they understand the risk training requirements of their organisation or their clients and have developed an innovative and effective solution. Evidence of how you’ve considered and measured the engagement of the individuals/groups you train, the performance outcomes of training and the business impact over time are also important.
