Singapore-based insurers have performed strongly in a competition to see who could raise the most funds during ‘Movember’.

Workers across Singapore took part in the fundraising exercise, which challenged men to grow a moustache for the 30 days of November. The idea was that men would change their own faces as well as the face of men’s health.

Aon’s team (pictured) raised more than S$17,000, which saw them placed fourth on the Singapore leaderboard. The top three positions were taken out by Bloomberg Singapore, Barclays APAC and Manulife Singapore.

Chief executive of Aon Risk Solutions Asia Sandeep Malik said that Aon was committed to supporting philanthropic causes that made a difference in the communities in which its employees worked and lived. “This is a terrific result for Aon Singapore and Aon offices worldwide,” he said, “clearly demonstrating the camaraderie amongst our team in an effort to contribute this great cause.”

Other notable Singapore insurance industry performances included AXA Singapore (10th) and Allianz Singapore (15th).

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of millions of moustaches around the world. It raises funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer, as well as mental health.
