Former Asia-Pacific and Middle East chief operating officer to target territory
Zurich has appointed Paula Choi to the position of chief executive of Zurich’s global life business in Hong Kong.
Choi, who will start her new role on 31 October, joined Zurich in 2010. She has been in her current role as chief operating officer of the company’s Asia-Pacific and Middle East global life operations for the past year and a half. During this time, Choi helped to establish Zurich Insurance Malaysia and the Zurich Indonesia Life Company.
Previous to this, Choi worked at The Prudential Assurance Company Limited, Prudential Corporation Asia and Manulife Financial.
Choi will report to the chief executive of Zurich’s global life business in Asia Pacific and Middle East, Mark Hartigan, who pointed out that Choi had three decades of insurance experience in Hong Kong and other Asian markets.
“She has a deep understanding of the Hong Kong market and her focus on delivering for our customers makes her the ideal person to further develop our Hong Kong Life business,” Hartigan said.
