Top guns swap Switzerland and São Paulo for Singapore
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed the previous head of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Fred Kleiterp (pictured), as its new head of Asia Pacific.
The company’s head of regions, Rudolf Flunger, said that giving a well-known Swiss Re executive this role reinforced the company’s “commitment to developing our insurance presence in a region which offers attractive opportunities for growth”.
Kleiterp, a Dutch national, added that Swiss Re Corporate Solutions was “building a clear regional focus and plans to develop its local resources across all functions”. The company declined to comment on what this focus might entail.
In other industry news, Liberty Mutual Insurance has announced that the former director of claims at Liberty Seguros (Brazil), Luiz Francisco Campos, will be the new president of Liberty Insurance Singapore.
The COO of Liberty International Asia, Luciano Suzuki, said that under Campos’s leadership, Liberty’s Brazilian operations had “gained better control over claims costs and achieved 30 per cent annual sales growth while opening multiple new branches”.
Suzuki added that Campos and his team in Singapore would continue to develop innovative products and services for a competitive insurance market. However, the company declined to elaborate on its plans for the region.
