Following an organisational restructure, Iain Ferguson has been appointed regional director of APAC, combining the existing and Greater China regions under one banner.
In addition to the regional director role, Iain will continue as the President and COO for Lloyd’s Japan. Ferguson joined Lloyd’s in 2007, having spent the previous 20 years with RSA in a variety of international roles.
In other news, following Eric Gao’s retirement at the end of this year, Linmao Li has been appointed to the role of Country Manager, China, subject to approval by the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC).
Li started his career with Lloyd’s as an underwriter in London before moving to Catlin, and then XL Catlin, as the director of XL Catlin underwriting division, Lloyd’s China, and was responsible for XL Catlin’s operation in Greater China.
In addition, Lloyd’s announced Jonathan May has been appointed as the CFO of APAC. He will also fulfil the role of country manager, China, on an interim basis until Li joins in the new year.
May joined the Lloyd’s London office in 2006 before moving to China in 2016. Prior to that, he worked at Ernst and Young in their insurance audit department in London and Madrid.
