Talks stall as developing countries accuse rich world of doing too little

Japan’s Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama announced a $10bn aid package to help help developing countries fight global warming, reported Reuters.

The PM will unveil the offering on December 18 at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. The money will be distributed over three years to 2012.

A commitment of funds from rich countries to poorer ones to help them win the fight against global warming is seen as a key ingredient of a global climate deal at the Copenhagen summit.

Talks stalled on Monday (December 14) when developing countries accused richer ones of doing too little to cut emissions.
