A three year old girl has become the youngest person ever in China to recover from a bird flu infection, according to state controlled media.
The girl, identified only by her surname Peng, was hospitalised last month in north China's Shanxi Province after being diagnosed with the H5N1 strain of avian influenza, reported Xinhua, China’s news agency.
The girl developed a fever Jan. 7 when she was in Hunan Province, central China.
China has reported eight human cases of the H5N1 strain this year, including five deaths, according to the official source.
