Two people involved in last year’s contaminated milk scandal will be executed

A court handed down the death sentence for two men involved in China’s contaminated milk scandal, according to reports.

The ex-boss of the dairy behind the scandal, which killed six babies and made an estimated 300,000 ill, was jailed for life after admitting selling fake produce last year.

Two others involved, a farmer and milk trader, will be executed.

Last year Chinese milk producers added melamine to raw milk to ake it appear high in protein. It led to product recalls across the globe and further damaged China’s reputation for producing safe and reliable products.
