Despite the enormity of its workforce, China faces a serious blue collar shortage. The country also has to contend with supporting an ageing population on a scale unmatched anywhere else in the world

Welcome to StrategicRISK’s 2015 China Risk Report. The articles and analysis within these pages review some of the key risks affecting businesses operating in what is arguably the world’s biggest and most important economy.

From economic stability to reputational crises, many of the issues examined in this report were discussed at length at two StrategicRISK round table events that were held in Beijing and Shanghai and attended by the country’s leading risk managers and brokers.

These risk professionals represented a broad cross-section of the largest and most important businesses operating in China.

This report is produced with the support of Zurich, and with the assistance of PARIMA, the Pan-Asia Risk and Insurance Management Association. PARIMA’s aim is to strengthen and enhance the risk culture in the region through the creation of opportunities for dialogue within the riskmanagement community. It is a mission that sits comfortably with the aims of our publication, and we will be working with PARIMA members in the future to bring you comprehensive coverage of the Asia- Pacific risk landscape.

In addition to this report on China,  StrategicRISK has produced other country reports on, for example, Vietnam, the Philippines and Japan in 2014. To see them visit www.strategic-riskglobal.com/asia/asia-risk-report.
